Senior Pilot Project Manager

Job description

Senior Pilot Project Manager

Unity Partners exclusively on behalf of our partner.

Our partner is a scale-up in water treatment technologies.

About the Role

As a Senior Pilot Project Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing pilot projects for innovative technologies. These smaller-scale initiatives are essential for testing groundbreaking solutions and strengthening client relationships.

You’ll be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from contract negotiation and planning to execution, reporting, and closure. In addition to managing projects, this role focuses on building and refining processes to enhance the effectiveness of the project team. Working closely with clients, internal teams, and external stakeholders, you’ll ensure each project is successfully delivered with measurable impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead international pilot projects, ensuring clear scopes, defined budgets, and on-time delivery.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, risk analysis, and project planning, managing all stages through to closure.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients’ project managers, fostering strong relationships.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to align expectations and ensure seamless execution.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction, addressing issues proactively.
  • Organize and mobilize internal teams for pilot implementation, including logistics and transport.
  • Manage resource allocation and track progress using tools like Monday.com.
  • Collaborate with technical and finance teams to align invoicing, cost tracking, and reporting.
  • Track and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals.
  • Provide regular updates to leadership on financial and performance metrics.
  • Contribute to creating a structured, efficient project management framework for the team.

Impact

The pilot projects you’ll oversee are crucial for validating new technologies and building long-term client trust. While smaller in scope, these projects significantly impact the company’s ability to scale globally.

This role suits someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys building processes, and is passionate about managing client-focused, high-impact projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience, ideally in a technical or engineering context.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep projects on track and within budget.
  • A proactive communicator who builds trust with clients and teams.
  • Comfortable engaging in technical discussions; water treatment experience is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com and experience in financial reporting.
  • Experience managing international projects and client relationships is a plus.

Details

  • Projects are primarily international, with a focus on the UK and Asia (Singapore). Travel may be required occasionally but is not a central aspect of the role.
  • Collaborate with business development teams during the handover from sales to pilot delivery, taking full responsibility after contracts are signed.
  • Key responsibilities include resource allocation, risk analysis, logistical planning, and customer satisfaction monitoring.

This is a chance to join a company at the forefront of innovation, managing pilot projects that test sustainable and cutting-edge technologies. The role offers room for growth, from managing larger projects to influencing how project management is structured within the team. If you thrive in a dynamic, client-driven environment and are excited to make an impact in a global organization, this role is for you.
